Fire ‘n’ Ice Heating & Cooling, Inc. is built on hard work, reputation, and family! It all started in 1977, when Jim Michalek, Sr. started working out of his garage – with one truck and his wife, Char, to answer calls at their home. As his quality of work spread by word of mouth, Michalek was able to start hiring employees and enjoyed continued growth of his original company, Charm Heating & Cooling – which was named after Char (Char M.)

After two decades of round-the-clock dedication and perseverance, Michalek joined forces with Harvey’s Heating & A/C in 1997, and their merger resulted in Fire ‘n’ Ice Heating & Cooling, Inc., Inc.

Along the way, various family members have worked at the business, with three of Jim and Char’s four kids now permanently working at Fire ‘n’ Ice Heating & Cooling, Inc.

Their oldest, Jim Jr., is the main salesperson, and has been recognized by customers as honest, knowledgeable, not pushy, and “the kind of person you want to do business with.”

Second oldest, Casey, is now the owner, as Jim Sr. decided to dust off his fishing poles and pursue retirement. While in high school, Casey started learning the business from the ground up. This included everything from making sheet metal fittings, working on installs, new construction, preventative maintenance, and helping customers by fixing their existing equipment. Casey then decided, like his dad, that he wanted to make a career in HVAC. He went from being a technician in the field, to inside the office as the service manager, as well as doing both residential and commercial sales. Casey eventually became the owner of Fire ‘n’ Ice Heating & Cooling, Inc. in January 2017.

Their only daughter, Dorothy, is the office manager – whose responsibilities range from advertising and marketing, to accounting and making sure her brothers behave themselves.
